... activities carried out with the best materials on the market, both at the company's premises and at the customer's site.

Chamber furnaces

Chamber furnaces are the systems used for heat treatment up to 1150°C. They are suitable for all medium and high temperature heat treatments and allow to carry out processing such as hardening, tempering, normalising, annealing, reheating and for carburising, carbonitriding, tempering, normalising, annealing and re-carburising treatments with quenching in atmosphere, oil and salt.

They are versatile systems that can be easily integrated in automatic processing lines.
Chamber systems are available with electric heating or by gas combustion, in the following types:

  • with one or more chambers
  • with front loading and unloading.

Chamber furnaces, employed for stress-free annealing and tempering, have different customisation possibilities such as automatic or semi-automatic management system, and the possibility to carry out the treatment in an inert atmosphere. E.M.I. Italia designers follow the whole project from its definition to the construction of the plant, to offer solutions tailored to the customer's requirements.

Some heat treatment processes, in fact, require gas heated chamber furnaces to ensure short heating times and high power.
Chamber furnaces with powerful atmospheric gas burners are suitable for many of these processes. Depending on the version, it is possible to equip the furnaces with automatic forced air burners and other adequate accessories.

The company's technicians use only top PLC brands and automation components, ensuring unbeatable reliability and durability.

We carry out retrofitting of old systems.

Continuous furnaces

Continuous furnaces are systems in which the load moves by means of a conveyor: they can be electric heated, gas-fired or diesel oil-fired and guarantee good quality heat treatments at low, medium and high temperatures, from 50 to 1000°C.

These are some of the models of continuous industrial furnaces supplied by E.M.I. Italia.

Bogie hearth furnaces

Bogie hearth furnaces are chamber systems of medium or large dimensions, with an extractable bogie hearth for loading the material.
They are furnaces used for reheating and heat treatment, hardening and tempering which include a quenching tank.
The application fields range from energy to nuclear, from"oil and & gas" to the aerospace and automotive industry, and for companies that perform heating and annealing treatments, casting of non-ferrous metals and plastic moulding, we make reliable and professional furnaces with removable bogie hearth.

This type of industrial furnace is suitable for carrying out various heat treatments, such as: heating, normalising, annealing, stress relief, tempering, hardening, etc.
Thanks to years of experience, E.M.I Italia produces the best types of bogie hearth furnaces for the industrial sector.

The bogie hearth furnace represents a basic system for heating large parts such as structural steel work, heavy mechanical parts, fittings, anchorage flanges and brackets, steel products and much more, or for the production of large quantities of pieces that other types of furnace cannot manage.

Usually, double bogie hearth and double door furnaces are used since they allow to optimise time, reducing that which is necessary for loading and unloading the material.
Bogie hearth furnaces, thanks to their operation by heating and cooling stages and to their natural thermal inertia, provide for the use of automatic flue gas recirculation or recirculation burners, able to correct the energy imbalances typical of discontinuous furnaces.

Modular systems

MODULAR SYSTEMS FOR CURVING, DECORATING AND MELTING OF GLASS

IN-LINE FURNACES

In designing our systems for curving and melting glass, we gave priority to achieving maximum performance with reduced energy consumption, all combined with outstanding operational flexibility.
The use of multilayer, superinsulating materials such as high-density ceramic fibres, allows energy consumption to be contained with consequent reduction of the installed power.

All our modular glass melting systems are designed to be expanded with additional production modules, cooling stations or with the addition of a second heating chamber.
Heat is generated by a quartz infrared light system, this allows the best possible irradiation of the glass to be obtained, heating it evenly across the surface. You can obtain melting or curving processes of the highest quality, only if you have maximum temperature uniformity on the glass.

CLAMSHELL FURNACE

The electronic temperature and power regulation system is the most sophisticated available on the market; in fact, according to the size, the heating chamber is divided into multiple zones independently controlled by a PLC with multiramp programs capable of storing various programs.

The smooth, seamless movements are obtained by means of pneumatic cylinders, electric motors or hydraulic devices. The system is fully controlled by electric equipment located in a cabinet.

Glass curving

PLATE GLASS CURVING

These systems may be of the static or continuous type with one or more heating chambers and preheating chambers, if required, to meet the different processing and productivity requirements.

Very fast and easy to set up, these plate glass curving systems are equipped with automatic movements and with the possibility of automatic temperature regulation for each area of the furnace.

In particular, they are employed for the production of plate glass for the furnishing, lighting and building sectors, to make insulating or artistic glass, and for the automotive sector (laminated curved).

They are divided into the following types:
Continuous curving systems with side return; continuous curving systems with lower return and heat recovery.

They consist of a loading station, of one or more heating cells where the curving process takes place, of one or more stabilisation zones, of cooling chambers, an unloading station, and of a trolley return device.
All controlled automatically by a PC/PLC.

Glass tempering and curving systems

GLASS TEMPERING AND CURVING SYSTEMS

One of the main fields of specialisation of E.M.I. Italia is the design and construction of plate glass tempering and curving systems.

These systems are employed for the production of safety glass to be used for the building, furnishing, automotive, boat-building, household appliances and lighting sectors. They are designed to produce small or large sheets, depending on the required production, and may have one or more heating chambers.
Glass tempering and curving systems are equipped with computer-controlled, high precision automatic handling.

Types of plate glass tempering and curving systems

The plate glass tempering and curving systems proposed by E.M.I. ITALIA with factory in Agrate Brianza, are divided into:

• vertical flat and curved sheet tempering systems with press
• horizontal oscillating rollers systems for flat sheet tempering
• horizontal curved sheet gravity tempering systems

This system consists of a reheating cell placed in a hole, of a curving station with a pneumatic or mechanical press, and a tempering station located at the top.
Extraction of the sheet is done vertically; this allows faster movements which result in better tempering.
These systems are employed for the production of flat and curved tempered plates

Furnaces for composite materials

E.M.I. Italia is highly specialised in the construction of furnaces for curing composite materials, i.e. systems provided with a vacuum bagging system which provides excellent temperature uniformity among the different materials treated, using the most advanced and innovative technologies. The company guarantees total safety of the system, ease of use, fine adjustment of temperature gradients, high homogeneity of the heat and energy saving.

Heat cycles and vacuum pumps of industrial furnaces for composite materials are operated by a PLC, an IROP management and control system of last generation with the possibility of remote management through the Ethernet network and interactive supervision through the Internet. Furnaces for composite materials, with innovative features such as the modularity of the bearing structure, which enables future processing without any problem, do not need be recessed or fixed to the ground and can be equipped with a multiple ventilation system with variable speed. These furnaces give the possibility of chosing the air adjustment and selecting the operating vacuum lines.

The industrial furnaces for composite materials are made in various sizes according to the "specifications" and requirements of the customer. All the systems of this type are made after careful designing of the insulation with an aim for lower energy consumption and maximum temperature uniformity.
Final testing is carried out on site, with the verification of all the operating parameters.
